Gappa <br />Tllle Director of Public Services <br />Administrator Reviewed: <br />^7 <br />Agenda Section: <br />Public Service ’s Director’s Report <br />Item Description: Agreement for Year 20o3 Park Mowing Services <br />In 2000, we solicited quotations for annual park mowing services from several area firms. <br />Shaughnessy Lawn Services of Orono provided the lowest quote for this service. This firm has been <br />doing an excellent job, and we have been renewing the agreement on an aimual basis for the past <br />several years. This firm also provides park mowing services for the City of Long Lake. <br />We are recommending adding the month of November to the agreement. The existing agreement <br />currently runs from April through October. This will allow for continued mowing of the parks <br />through November to mulch the fallen leaves. Long Lake currently does this, we tried this last year <br />on a trial basis and it worked well for cleaning up the parks before winter. <br />Shaughnessy Lawn Services is interested renewing their agreement for another year with a cost <br />adjustment of $1,400 which includes adding the month of November to the agreement and also <br />covers increased fuel and labor costs. This is a reasonable increase, and we are recommending <br />acceptance of the quotation of $ 1 6,000 from Shaughnessy Lawn Service for year 2003 park mowing <br />services <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED; <br />Motion to accept quotation from Shaughnessy Lawn Ser\ ice, Orono Minnesota for the 2003 season, <br />park mowing serv ices in the amount of $16,000. <br />0 <br />m
