MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Monday, AueusI 16, 2(MM <br />6:00 o'clock p.m. <br />(#04-3043 Joka HoIm and Sataa Kerber. caotiaord) <br />Holm indicated their architect <bew m the patio but there r^ou'.d not be any chani;es to the exi»ting <br />patio. <br />Jurgens inquired whether it was possible to reduce the hardcover by I percent m the 75 ’ - 250 ’ /one <br />!«»reach 25 percent <br />Curtis stated the proposed sidewalk indicated on the plan is no longer proposed, which would reduce <br />the hardcoxer. <br />Holm explained there are a few options to reduce the hardcover, such as reducing the sidewalL <br />moving the turnaround off to the right, or reducing the si/e of the garage. Holm indicated he is not <br />oppo.sed to reducing it to 25 percent <br />Kahn suggested the applicant decide which option he would like to do. <br />Jurgens questioned whether the 75' - 250' hardcover variance would still be required in order to <br />construct a covered entrance if the applicant reduces the hardcover cisew here. <br />Curtis staled the applicant would still need a hardcover variance unless the Planning Commission <br />IS requiring the applicant to reduce the hardcover to 25 percent. <br />Jurgens commented if the applicant is required to reduce the hardcover to 25 perceni, then that w ould <br />eliminate the two hardcover variances in the 75' - 250' /ones <br />Bremer inquired whether the applicant understood what the Planning Commission was recommending. <br />Kempf staled the applicant has the option of adding the sidewalk if he reduces the drixeway. <br />Holm staled he would like some turnaround. <br />Jurgens noted approximately 150 square feet would need to be removed. <br />Gundlach stated one percent is approximately 147.5 square feet. <br />Jargrns moved, Kempf seconded, to recommend approval of Application #04-3043, <br />approval of an average lakeskore setback variance and a 75’ - 250* rone hardcover <br />variance in order to replaee an existing 13 ’ bv 24 ’ deck on the east side of their home, <br />and a side setback variance in order to eonstmet a two-stall garage 10 feet from the side lot tine <br />where a 30 foot setback Is required and a 9.9 foot setback is existing, for the prnpertv located at <br />14115 Bay RMgc Road. \ OTE: Ayes 6.
