The current contract expires on <br />December 31, 2004 and staff is requesting approval to extend the agreement through December <br />31,2007. Each of the cities participating in the WHRC is required to sign an extension <br />agreement. A copy of the Curbside Contract Extension Agreement for 2005-2007 is attached for <br />Council review. <br />The contract extension includes a rate increase of approximately 3%. The current rate is S2.18 <br />per household per month and increases to $2.24 per household per month through December 31, <br />2007. As of January 1, 2005, soft cover books will be added to the paper recycling category. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Both staff and the WHRC recommend extending the current contract with E-Z Recycling <br />through December 31, 2007 at a rate of $2.24 per household per month. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the extension of the curbside recycling contract with E-Z Recycling for the <br />period from January 1, 2t)05 through December 31,2007 at a rate of $2.24 per household per <br />month, and to authori/,e the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the Curbside Contract Extension <br />Agreement for 2005-07.
