Joint Powers Agreement, 2005-2007 Extension <br />Since the City began providing curbside recycling scrv ’ice, it has participated in a Joint Powers <br />Agreement with the cities of Greenfield, Independence, Long Lake, Loretto, Maple Plain and <br />Medina for the purpose of admitiistering the curbside recycling program, and to facilitate <br />cooperative efforts toward planning and promoting other recycling activities. <br />The West Hennepin Recycling Commission has requested that each of the participating cities <br />extend the Joint Powers Agreement to be in agreement with the date of the curbside recycling <br />contract. Staff is recommending that the existing Joint Powers Agreement, which is in effect <br />through through December 31,2004, be extended through December 31,2007. A resolution <br />extending the Joint Powers Agreement is attached for Council consideration. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution approving the extension of the Joint Powers Agreement of the West <br />Hennepin Recycling Commission through December 31,2007.
