MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, July 12,2004 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />The Council discussed participating in the Com Days Parade. Mayor Peterson and Council Member <br />White indicated they planned to participate. The other Council Members indicated they would <br />participate if their schedules allowed. The Council would ride on the new Navarre pumper. <br />Moorse asked for Council’s input on purchasing property adjacent to the Navarre Park. Council <br />determined someone would look at it and bring it before the Council at a later date. <br />A clerk at the Orono Golf Course sold liquor to an underage person. Council wanted to ensure all <br />employees serving liquor had taken training on selling liquor. The fine will be donated to an Alcohol <br />Prevention organization. The Golf Course Superintendent has reinforced the requirement of checking <br />I.D.’s with all of the clerks, and will provide additional training to the clerk who violated the policy. <br />PUBLIC SERVICE DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br />*7. Award Contract for County Road 6/Baseball Field Trail <br />Murphy moved, White seconded, to award the contract for construction of the CR/6Baseball <br />Field Trail to DMJ Corporation, Medina, Minnesota in the amount of $59,802.70 to be funded <br />from the 2004 Municipal State Aid Fund Budget with approval of a budget adjustment to <br />reflect this expenditure.. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*8. NPDES Stormwater Education Program with Metro Watershed Partners <br />Murphy moved. White seconded, to participate in the NPDES Stormwater Education Program <br />with Metro Watershed Partners in the 2004 annual amount of $500 to be funded from the 2004 <br />Stormwater Utility Fund Budget with approval of a budget adjustment to reflect this <br />expenditure. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />9.Schedule Park Commission Candidate Interviews <br />Murphy moved. White seconded, to select Monday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. as the date and time <br />for the Parks Commission candidate interviews. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />9A. Equipment Purchase and Budget Adjustment <br />Murphy moved. White seconded, to expend forfeiture funds for equipment expenditures <br />including a vehicle, computer, flrearm and other nece- ;ary equipment for a special assignment <br />totaling $14,260 with a budget adjustment reflecting this expenditure. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />J
