r <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, May 10, 2004 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />(D <br />COUNf'” ^^PFTING <br />MAY 2 4 2004 <br />ROLI.CITY OF ORONO <br />The Council met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Barbara <br />Peterson; Council Members Lili McMillan, Jim Murphy and Jim White; City Attorney Thomas <br />Barrett; representing staff were Planning Director Mike Gaffron, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, and <br />Recorder Marci Wallingford. <br />Council Member Bob Sansevere was absent. <br />Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />1. Approve/Amend <br />The following items were included in the Consent Agenda: #3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,16,18, <br />19,20, and 21. <br />White moved, McMillan seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />RECOGNITION <br />2. Mike Brown and Jim Cox, Long Lake Firefighters>Resolution 1/5167 and 5168 <br />Mayor Peterson invited .Mike Brown and Jim Cox to the podium to recognize them for their 40 years <br />of dedicated service to the community, respectively, and presented each of them with a Resolution. <br />Brown and Cox were thanked by individual Council Members for their service to the community. <br />Chief Brad Roehl and Assistant Chief Tony Roe of the Long Lake Fire Department w ere also <br />recognized by Mayor Peterson. <br />15. Request to Hire Part-Time Police Officer - Resolution No. 5171 <br />Mayor Peterson moved, .Murphy seconded, to move item #15 up and to swear in the newest <br />member of the Oruno City Police Department; and to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5171 to <br />declare that the part-time position held by Anthony J. White is that of a police officer. <br />VOTE: Aves4,NavsO <br />Mayor Peterson invited Anthony (Tony) Jeffrey W’hitc to the podium for the swearing in ceremony. <br />After swearing in Officer White, Mayor Peterson introduced him to the individual Council Members. <br />Mayor Peterson also recognized Officer Larry Tomcheck and Sgt.
