The <br />police department recently conducted an open hiring process which included advertising, a <br />written test, an interview process, a physical agility test, and a thorough background. <br />The police department made a conditional offer of employment to Anthony (Tony) Jeffrey <br />White, pending his successful completion of psychological and medical testing. <br />Tony has successfully completed all phases of the Orono Police Department hiring process. The <br />OPD recommends hiring Tony as a fully licensed police officer working part time hours. <br />Tony graduated from LeSueur-Hcnderson High School in 1999. He graduated from police skills <br />school at the Alexandria Technical College in July 2003, and received a B.A. in Criminal Justice <br />from St. Mary ’s University in December 2003. <br />Tony completed an internship with the Wright County Sheriff’s Department which included <br />visiting hundreds of businesses to update contact information. He has been described by citizens <br />and supervisors as mature, helpful, and polite, responsible, and honest. <br />Tony enjoys running, lifting weights, fishing, hunting and all sports. He currently resides in <br />Buffalo. <br />COUNCIL Acri ION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the hiring of Anthony Jeffrey White as a licensed police officer to work part <br />time for the Orono Police Department with a starting salary of $14.42, beginning 5/11/04. <br />Motion to pass resolution approving Anthony J. White as police officer in the City of Orono, <br />County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota.
