I <br />□ <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Monday, September 19,2005 <br />6:00 o’clock p.m. <br />(IW)5-3121 THE NARROWS SALOON, CONTINUED) <br />Rahn stated he sees a number of building code issues with this application that will need to be addressed <br />by the applicants. <br />Frank stated they would meet the code regarding egress and ingress. <br />Sudheimer stated she did have every business owner review their plans and they have indicated they are <br />in favor of the expansion. Sudheimer stated there was one business owner who indicated he is in favor of <br />the expansion but did not want to sign the petition. Sudheimer stated Alisa Butler, owner of The Sign <br />Age, be., has indicated she does not have a problem with (he noise. <br />Rahn stated it is the intent of the Planning Commission to reduce the noise as much as possible. <br />Meyers suggested the City look at erecting a higher fence un the city lot rather than placing the burden on <br />the business owner. <br />Kerapf stated the Planning Commission has to focus on the noise generated from this establishment at <br />tonifi^t’s meeting. <br />Bremer moved, Leslie seconded, to recommend approval of Application 1105-3121, The Narrows <br />Saloon, 3382 Shoreline Drive, granting of a condittonal use permit, subject to the following <br />conditions: One, that the outside seating area not exceed 837 square feet, with a maximum of 32 <br />seats; two, that the hours of operation for the outdoor seating be limited to 10:00 p.m. during the <br />week and 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, which are the current hours of operation that <br />the kitchen is open; three, following that time peonle would only be allowed in that area to smoke <br />and no alcohol is to be allowed in the patio area after those hours; four, no speakers or amplifiers <br />are allowed on the patio area; five, a self-closing door out to the patio area will be installed to <br />minimize the noise; and six, the conditional use permit is subject to a one-year review. VOTE: <br />Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(Recess taken at 7:35 p.m. - 7:43 p.m.) <br />4. 805-3131 STEVE BOHL OF BORLAND DEVELOPMENT, INC, 190 WILLOW DRIVE <br />NORTH AND 177 GLENDALE DRIVE, PRELIMINARY PLAT, 7:43 P.M. - 8:32 PJVL <br />Steve Bohi, Applicant, and Mark Oronberg, Surveyor, were present <br />Gaffron noted tfiis application has appeared before die Planning Commission previously, with Bohland <br />Development purchasing a portion of the Calvin Presbyterian Church property and a portion of the Keith <br />Williamson property.
