r <br />/ -. 3iM <br />I <br />ii <br />•i <br />vi <br />Ct .. i S r.U.. <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, Angnit 8,2005 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS - Rick Rice, ReprcMotative <br />Rice reported the Park Commission toured Big Island recently, noting that a good portion of the island <br />does consist of wetlands. Rice commented some additional public docks on the island would be useful. <br />Rice stated maintenance of the parkland on the island would probably be an issue and will need to be <br />addressed by the Park Commission. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS - J. Marc Fritzler, Representative <br />Fritzler stated he had nothing to repon but would remain for questions. <br />PUBUC COMMENTS <br />Andrew McDermott, LMCD Representative, addressed the City Council regarding The Future of the <br />Lake Event sponsored by the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District and Crystal Picrz Marine. <br />McDermott encouraged the City Council to attend this worthy event. <br />McDermott reported the harvesting program is proceeding well, but noted that the milfoil is growing at a <br />faster than anticipated pace. McDeimott noted inspections for zebra mussels would be conducted at the <br />major docks this coming weekend. McDermott stated the City of Deephaven has requested the LMCD <br />develop a plan and research the anticipated costs to implement a program to help prevent zebra mussels <br />from entering Lake Minnetonka. <br />McDermott stated the LMCD will also be changing the de-icing regulations for this upcoming winter and <br />that they will be reviewing whether any additional permanent docks should be allowed in the future. <br />McDermott noted the LMCD has passed their budget for the upcoming year. <br />Paul Raster, 2600 Casco Poini Road, noted he was in attendance at the July 11 council meeting. Raster <br />stated at that meeting he was under the impression that screening was an option for concealing his tractor, <br />adtich he has since found out is incorrect. Raster apologized for his misunderstanding. <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />*4. 405-3112 LOREN AND STACEY SCHOENZEIT, 4480 FOREST LAKE LANDING - <br />VARIANCE AND SUBDIVISION - RESOLUTION NO. 5364 and 5365 <br />White nMved, McMillan seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5364, a Resolution Approving a <br />Snbdivltion of a Lot Line Rearrangement for Properties Located at 4480 Forest Lake Landing and <br />1090 Wildhnrst Trail; and to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5365, a Resointion Granting Rcar/Street <br />Yard Setback and Hardcover Variances for the property located at 4480 Forest Lake Landing. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />I <br />i PAGE 2
