a . <br />n <br />August 8,2005 <br />Chief Stephany Good <br />Orono Police I>epartment <br />P O Box 86 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />Dear Chief G <br />We have been working with your Community Service Officer, <br />Chris Pharo for a period of time on two very tricky Animal Control <br />issues. <br />The first case was one of 2 barking dogs at the home of Jennifer <br />VerVoort-Smith and was a very difficult case due to the size and <br />proximity of her property and the ability to ascertain just exactly <br />where the balking was coming from. Office Pharo effecti'^ely <br />brought this case to resolution through his tireless efforts, much to <br />our delight. We thank him very heartily for resolving this case. <br />The second case, of course, was the case of the infamous Crowing <br />Rooster at the Kling residence on White Oak Circle. Officer Pharo <br />worked tirelessly on this case, and I mean that literally. He worked <br />so hard, and at one point even gave up some of his own sleep to <br />position an umarked squad car on the Luce Line Trail beginning at <br />about 4am to try to catch the Rooster in the act of the first crow of <br />the morning. Officer Pharo put up with numerous complaint calls <br />from me. During the time we worked together, we lost an <br />enormous amount of sleep at our house, leading to a desire to <br />resolve the situation quickly, and at all cost. Officer Pharo was <br />very patient and analyzed the case and determined exactly what it <br />was going to take to bring the case to resolution.
