(h) Verification of identity. Questioned identity situations may occur which could <br />require fingerprint verification where it is not clear if a record based on a name and <br />date of birth search actually belongs to the subject of the computerized criminal <br />history or driver’s license Ustory inquiry. <br />SECTION 2. Municipal 2^ning Code Section 26*32, Applications, is hereby amended by <br />adding the following language to Section 26-32 (S): <br />(S) The city clerk shall, upon receipt of each application completed in accordance with <br />this Division, forthwith investigate the truth of statements made in the plication and <br />the moral character and business reputation of each applicant for license to such <br />extent as he deems necessary, including ordering a cornputerized criminal history <br />inquiry and/or a driver’s license history inquiry on the applicant For such <br />investigation, the city cleric may enlist the aid of the chief of police. The council shall <br />not consider an application before such investigation has been completed. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published in THE PIONEER and THE LAKER <br />newspapers and shall be effective upon approval and publication. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono on this 23rd day of May, 2005 by a vote of <br />ayes and____. ays. <br />Barbara A.
