Gappa <br />THIc Director of Public Services <br />Adniaistrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Public Services Director's Report <br />-Hem Detcription: Accept Quotations 920 South Brown Road Sewer Extension <br />The property owner of920 South Brown Road has requested sanitary sewer because of inadequate <br />sites for the installation of a new septic system. This is an existing developed property that is within <br />the MUSA. The property owner has requested a City project to extend sewer service to the property <br />and has signed an assessment waiver agreeing to be assessed for the costs to complete the project. <br />The sewer extension project is to directioiuil bore 700 feet of sewer forcemain south along South <br />Brown Road from the existing Webber Hills Area pressure sewer system. <br />Plans and specifications have been completed, and we have sent a Request for Quotations to three <br />directional boring contractors that have previously completed City projects. The estimated <br />construction cost for this project is less ^an $50,000, so the solicitation of quotations is an <br />acceptable method to select a contractor to complete this project. A tabulation of the quotations <br />received is shown below. <br />EJ Mayer's Inc., Corcoran, Minnesota <br />Red Pederson Utilities, Hopkins Minnesota <br />MitmComm Utility Construction, Mora Mirmesota <br />$10,402.60 <br />$13,305.25 <br />$24,075.00 <br />We are reconunending acceptance of the quotation from EJ Mayer's Inc., Corcoran, Minnesota. <br />There is an adequate cash balance in the Sewer Fund to pay for this project, and our recommendation <br />is to fund this project from the Sewer Fund and the project assessment revenues then go into the <br />Sewer Fund. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept the quotation in the amount $ 10,402.60 from EJ Mayer's Inc. Corcoran, Minnesota <br />for completion of the 920 South Brown Road Sewer Extension project with project funding from the <br />Sewer Fund and approval of the appropriate year 2005 budget adjustment to reflect this expenditure.
