.a We feel that our file compares with the Balder Park file you will see this evening. This property was already over on structural hardcover mininum and the planning commission approved and additional 50 sq ft. for a cover entry? We're asking for 171 sq ft that we need!! Some members of the planning commission thought we should re>construct our home in order to meet the 1500 sq ft requirement. We feel this is totally unnecessary. Suggestion was made to tear off the side of our house and add the remaining 229 Sq ft we have left and build up. This is a unreasonable request and one that we cannot afford. We feel that is unfair when a 171 sq ft variance is what we ’re asking for. It is a minimal variance request for you and the most reasonable cost for us. We received very mixed opinions from the planning commission and felt several supporters of our proposal who saw the need for a garage and understood our hardship. We feel by approving this application your providing a safer environment for our family, allowing the property to blend with if s surroundings, while reducing hardcover and run off into the lake. We are sensitive to the issues you all face with these variance requests. We realize these are put in place for a reason and understand the purpose they serve. We feel however our case deserves certain considerations because of the restrictions we are friced with. We are asking for the minimum possible size garage and hope that you can put yourself in our place and understand where we are coming from. We are willing to do anything and everything to make this garage happen. My wife and would like to express that this is a very serious issue we are facing tonight. We don't see any other way stating a family in this home without a garage. We love our home and have worked very hard for the opportunity to live on this great lake. Please help us stay.
