As part
of the final stage of the manufacturing process, several items were revised. The CAPS foam
system originally planned for the truck was too large for the space available. A smaller CAPS
system, with the same capabilities and capacity, was installed. The cost of this system was
$2,500 less than the original system. This savings was offset by Change Order No.2, in the
amount of $2,245, which related to adding shelves to the additional space that was made
available by the switch to the smaller CAPS system.
An initial payment of 90% of the cost of the vehicle was made at the time the vehicle was
ordered. The remaining balance due as the final payment is $16,633.00. It is recommended
Change Order No. 2 and the final payment be approved at this time.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Motion to approve Change Order No. 2 for the Navarre Fire Rescue Vehicle, in the amount of
$2,245.00, and to approve the final payment to Rescue Vehicles of Iowa, in the amount of
$16,633, with a budget adjustment in the Improvement and Equipment Outlay Fund to reflect the
expenditure.
