As part of 'his project several access points to <br />H ighway 1 2 wi 11 be eliminated or changed. To be eliminated is the acce.ss on 12 east ofTownlme Road <br />that serves lour Orono residences. This frontage road will be built from Townline Road to the e;ist to serve <br />the.se residents. MnDOT will fund the gravel base portion of 'he road. This road will go tlirough the <br />Rudd’s property. To receive MnDOT funding for the frontage r ,ad, Medina needed an exae* location of <br />the road and had to submit a request by September, 2000. <br />The Rudd’s preliminary subdivision approval was granted by Orono in June 2000. However, tbeydid not <br />pnrceed with the final siilxli vision at that time. In Resolution //4479, condition 4, the one year requirement <br />for tinal plat iipproval was waived, extending the initial final plat de;idline to DcTember .1 1 ,2(K)3. Tliis date <br />was based on MnDO f’s intent to let the project in the fall of 2002, and construction would be in 2003. <br />■fbe MnDOT timetable then changed to letting the project in the fall of 2003, w ith construction in 2004. <br />Becau.se of this the cnective|)eri(xl ofprelnninaiyplat appioval was extended via CityofOrono Re.solulion <br />No. 49t)5 in December 2002. <br />Due to additional changes in MnDO'f’s.scheduling and fnnding, the project is now scheduled to be let by <br />.1 line 30,2005 and the road constructed by June 30,2006. fhe applicants are requesting that the elTecti ve <br />perioil of preliminary plat approval be fnrtber ex teiuleil to July 31 ,2006 to match the updated schedule. <br />Staff has no problem with this extension. <br />('OI)N(’II, ACTION REQUES I EI) <br />To adopt orameiul the attached resolution, extending the clTcctivc period of final plat approval to July 31 <br />2006.
