Map delineating subwatershed received December 10,1990. <br />Staff Review Siimmflryr <br />The project involves dredging to remove 2,774 cubic yards of material from a wedand to provide <br />tm open water pond 5 feet deep with 4:1 side sieves. The project is located north of the <br />intersection of Navatre Lane and Hillside Place in the Qty of Orono. The wetland is connected to <br />Crystal Bay, Lake Minnetonka by a culven with an invert elevation of 927.93. Therefore, this <br />wetland acts as part of the floodplain for Lake Minnetonka. Spoil is to be placed adjacent to the <br />pond at a slope of approximately 3.5:1. Fill is to be placed within the wedand along the cast edge. <br />Excavation is m be provided alcmg the west edge to compensate for storage capacity loss wit^ the <br />floodplaita. It is unclear from the information submitted whether the proposed excavation is at the <br />same elevation as the fill <br />This project was reviewed and tabled at the regularly scheduled October meeting of the Board of <br />Managers. The Orono Planning Commission has tabled this project. The next Planning <br />Commi^on meeting is Janua^ 22, 1991. District rules specify that the Managers will review <br />applications fOT permits iiwolving land development only after the applicant demonstrates that the <br />plan has receive preliminary approval from the municipality indicating compliance with the <br />municipal plans. <br />Recommendation <br />Table <br />1. <br />ling recent of: <br />Sta^e/storage relationship for the wedand for both existing and proposed conditions <br />begmning at the runout elevation of Lake Minnetonka of 928.6 providmg no net decrease in <br />stormwater storage capacity at various stages. <br />2.
