9 <br /> <br />224223v3 <br /> 17 years continuous service 20 days (160 hours) <br />18 years continuous service 21 days (168 hours) <br />19 years continuous service 22 days (176 hours) <br />20 years continuous service 24 days (192 hours) <br /> <br />The maximum accumulation of vacation is 240 hours. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 20 HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />20.1 Each employee shall receive 12 (96 hours) floating holidays accrued on a prorated basis <br />each year to be used in the same manner as vacations. For each holiday hour not used <br />each employee shall receive an hour of pay up to 96 hours per year. Payment is to be <br />made on the first day in December of each calendar year. <br />20.2 Employees who are scheduled to work on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, <br />Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, <br />Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and <br />Christmas Day shall receive an additional one-half hour of pay for each hour worked on <br />each of these eleven holidays. <br />20.3 Holiday hours commence at 0000 hours and end at 2359 hours on the actual day of the <br />holiday for employees working shifts. Employees working a Monday through Friday <br />schedule shall observe the holidays on the same days as the other City Employees. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 21 SICK LEAVE <br /> <br />21.1 Each employee shall earn eight (8) hours of sick leave per month. <br />21.2 Each employee shall be allowed to accumulate sick leave up to the maximum amount of <br />nine hundred sixty (960) hours. <br />21.3 In addition any hours over 960 hours accrued shall go into a catastrophic sick leave bank, <br />which may be used any time the person is sick for more than 30 consecutive calendar <br />days. <br />The maximum accrued in this bank is 320 hours and is not useable for severance <br />purposes under Article 23. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 22 SEVERANCE PAY <br /> <br />22.1 Accumulated sick leave balance <br />Each employee with at least three (3) years, but less than twelve (12) years, of service with the <br />EMPLOYER will receive, upon honorable termination of employment, one-third (1/3) of the <br />employee's accumulated sick leave as severance pay. Each employee with twelve (12) years or <br />more of service with the Employer will receive, upon honorable termination, one-half (1/2) of the <br />employee’s accumulated sick leave as severance pay. Upon honorable termination, the <br />employee’s sick leave balance shall be paid into the Post Employment Health Care Savings Plan <br />as defined in this labor agreement. <br /> <br />22.2 Accumulated Vacation and Comp Time balances
