The deck that
transitions from the permanent dock in the water will be made out of all treated lumber per my
prior responses based on 8-12" piling driven into the lakebed. Once the deck transfer onto
shore, the platform at the base of the stairs and lift will be made of 4x4" posts which will serve
as the support. Each of these posts will be buried into the ground 42 inches and placed on top
of poured concrete footings. So, throughout the system, we will use sound construction
techniques. I have built many homes/decks in the past so I understand what need to be done to
get below the frost line on the shore and make sure there is a solid, un-movable foundation.

Thx

On Thu, Oct 20, 2022 at 10:53 AM Permitting <permitting@minnehahacreek.org> wrote:
Thank you for reaching out and notifying us about your project. Is the permanent pier
attached with footings? If so how many and how big is each one?

Kayla Westerlund
Permitting Program Manager
952-473-2855

Minnehaha Creek Watershed District
15320 Minnetonka Blvd.
Minnetonka, MN 55345
