From:Michele Abbott <br />To:Melanie Curtis <br />Subject:Support for Tim and Leslie Oare Conditional Use Permit <br />Date:Wednesday, January 19, 2022 8:14:42 AM <br />We live next door to Tim and Leslie Oare, and are the neighbors closest to the carriage house <br />for which they are requesting a Guest House Conditional Use Permit (CUP). <br />We are in total support of their request and have no issue with their using this property for <br />occasional guests. In fact, we strongly favor this over having the property individually owned <br />with permanent residents. We anticipate that transitioning the home away from a residence <br />will reduce congestion and noise on the small property and lakeshore. <br />From an historical perspective, the home was formerly a carriage house. It was split off of the <br />primary property years ago to make it an independent home. Allowing the house to be a guest <br />house reverts the home to something much closer to its original use. As a neighbor, this is a <br />preferred situation to having a completely separate residence on the small property <br />sandwiched between our property and the Oare property. <br />We hope the city will approve this CUP <br />Michele and John Abbott <br />2941 Casco Point Road <br />763.442.4851
