<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />NO. 7309 <br /> <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on February 22, 2022, the Planning Commission voted 5 to 0 on a <br />motion to deny the variances for the amount of hardcover requested for both properties, and deny <br />the variance for the guest house use lot area minimum; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants revised their request by increasing the hardcover <br />reductions on both properties prior to the City Council review of the application resulting in 26.8% <br />proposed hardcover on the Abbott Property and 25.6% proposed hardcover on the Oare Property; <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, on April, 11, 2022, the City Council reviewed the revised application <br />and the recommendations of the Planning Commission and City staff; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April, 11, 2022, the City Council motioned to approve the <br />hardcover variances based on the revised percentages. The Council did not support the lot area <br />variance to support the guest house use. The motion to approve the hardcover variances was <br />withdrawn at the applicant’s request, the application was tabled to allow the Applicants time to <br />make decisions about the guest house use; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 28, 2022, the Applicants withdrew the variance request <br />relating to the guest house use; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 14, 2022, the City Council reviewed the revised <br />application for the hardcover variances and the recommendations of the Planning Commission <br />and City staff; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Orono, Minnesota <br />hereby approves the revised hardcover variances as described above based on one or more of <br />the following findings of fact concerning the Property: <br /> <br />FINDINGS OF FACT: <br /> <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #LA22-000001. The analysis contained <br />within staff memos and the exhibits attached to the aforesaid memos, all minutes from the <br />above mentioned meetings, and any and all other materials distributed at these meetings <br />are hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />2. The Properties are located in the LR-1C One Family Lakeshore Residential Zoning <br />District. <br />
