Discuss Open Houses (#1 on 8/13 and #2 on 9/17) & Original Survey <br />The group discussed what was gathered and discussed in both Open House #1 and Open House #2. <br />Both events were lightly attended but the general consensus was to keep the park as natural as <br />possible. If enhancements are needed, enhancements should be the least impactful as necessary. <br /> <br />3. Review “Do Nothing, Do Something, Do More” Survey Results <br />a. Review survey data from 9/17 <br />• 283 total responses (summary below) <br />Beach: do nothing= 60%, do something= 24%, do more= 16% <br />Restroom/Small Public Bldg.: do nothing= 32%, d o something= 43%, do more= 25% <br />Parking Lot : do nothing= 68%, do something= 16%, do more= 16% <br />Playground: no nothing= 62%, do something= 28%, do more= 10% <br />Canoe Launch: do nothing= 59%, do something= 21%, do more= 20% <br />Picnic Tables: do nothing= 61%, do something= 14%, do more= 25% <br />Winter Activities: do nothing= 48%, do something= 32%, do more= 20% <br /> <br />4. Discuss Draft Master Plan <br />a. Beach <br />The beach could possibly be expanded and a physical swimming barrier may be appropriate to <br />keep fishing and motorized boaters from accessing the swimming beach area. The installation <br />of a swimming platform within the swimming area did receive some interest and should be an <br />amenity that could be added in the future. <br />b. Restroom/Small Public Bldg. <br />Interest in upgrading the restroom to a flush toilet building with possibility of combining the <br />restroom with a small covered picnic shelter/warming house structure. <br />Summit Beach Park Master Plan Steering <br />Committee Meeting #3 Minutes <br />Sept. 21, 2022 – 2:00 P.M. <br />In person & virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams
