Discuss Open Houses (#1 on 8/13 and #2 on 9/17) & Original Survey The group discussed what was gathered and discussed in both Open House #1 and Open House #2. Both events were lightly attended but the general consensus was to keep the park as natural as possible. If enhancements are needed, enhancements should be the least impactful as necessary. 3. Review “Do Nothing, Do Something, Do More” Survey Results a. Review survey data from 9/17 • 283 total responses (summary below) Beach: do nothing= 60%, do something= 24%, do more= 16% Restroom/Small Public Bldg.: do nothing= 32%, d o something= 43%, do more= 25% Parking Lot : do nothing= 68%, do something= 16%, do more= 16% Playground: no nothing= 62%, do something= 28%, do more= 10% Canoe Launch: do nothing= 59%, do something= 21%, do more= 20% Picnic Tables: do nothing= 61%, do something= 14%, do more= 25% Winter Activities: do nothing= 48%, do something= 32%, do more= 20% 4. Discuss Draft Master Plan a. Beach The beach could possibly be expanded and a physical swimming barrier may be appropriate to keep fishing and motorized boaters from accessing the swimming beach area. The installation of a swimming platform within the swimming area did receive some interest and should be an amenity that could be added in the future. b. Restroom/Small Public Bldg. Interest in upgrading the restroom to a flush toilet building with possibility of combining the restroom with a small covered picnic shelter/warming house structure.
