The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with <br />replacement of trucks 422, 431 and 712. <br /> <br />2. Background. The trucks are well beyond their useful lives. <br />a. 422 is used for public works maintenance has been in service for 20 years and is in very <br />poor condition. <br /> <br />b. 712 is our utility truck used in Water and Sewer department. The body is rusted out and has <br />over 175,000 miles and used daily to support water and sewer operations <br /> <br />c. 431 is a 1 ton dump truck and used to support public works activities and plow snow. The <br />truck has been in service for 14 years has had over $20,000 in motor repairs. The new truck <br />will be able to have multiple boxes taken on and off via a roll off body. <br /> <br />3. Cost. The City received quotes, listed below, for new chassis, snow plows boxes, lifting crane <br />and related items. Midway, ABM, Aspen and Tow master are all thru state contract pricing. Perry’s <br />towing honors state pricing and is the local distributor. The lowest quotes are from, ABM, Aspen, <br />and Perry’s. Chassis pricing is not expected to be advertised until October 27 with ordering window <br />of for 2023 of November 7th thru the 10th.
