DOT <br />320 Washington Ave. So. <br />Hopkins, MN 55343 <br />Location: City of Orono, Sec. 8CDD, North Arm - Lake Minnetonka <br />Purpose:Replace an existing timber seawall with a metal wall and perform <br />dredging to facilitate access to the Hendrickson public access. <br />Dear Mr. Ault: <br />At the regularly scheduled November 21, 1985 meeting of the Board of Managers, <br />the subject permit application was reviewed along with the following exhibits: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />Permit Application 85-173. <br />Cover letter dated October 15, 1985 signed by J. Ault, Hennepin Co. <br />Hydraulics Engineer. <br />Request for comments from the DNR, dated September 25, 1985. <br />Specifications for the project dated September 10, 1985 prepared by <br />Hennepin Co. <br />Title and plan sheet for the project, dated November 1, 1985 prepared <br />by Hennepin Co. <br />The Board approved the permit application with the conditions that: <br />1. A geotextile filter fabric be used behind the metal seawall. <br />2. Granular fill only be used as backfill behind the wall. <br />The Board further recommended that vertical wooden bumpers be provided along <br />the seawall to prevent and reduce damage to moored boats. <br />This permit is valid for one year. If construction is not complete within one <br />(1) year, an extension must be requested. Please contact the District at <br />473-4224 when this project is about to commence so an inspector may view the <br />work in progress. <br />EUGENE A.
