Any installation, alteration, repair or extension ot an individual sewage treatment system shall oe inspected to ensure compliance by the Zoning Administrator or a qualified inspector following completion of the work but prior to covering of the system. All existing sewage treatment systems inconsistent with tne standards referenced in Section V (B) of this Ordinance snail be brought into conformance or discontinued within five (b) years from the date of enactment of this orainance. Any nonconforming sanitary facility founo to be a public nuisance shall be brought into conformity or discontinued within 30 days after receiving written tjotice from tne Zoning Administrator. VI. WATER SUPPLY Public or private supplies of water for coii;estic purposes snail conform to Minnesota Department of Health standards for water quality. A) Public or municipal water supplies shall be used where availaole ana where feasible. B)Permit. No person, firm, or corporation snail install, alter, repair or exteno any private well without first ootaining a permit therefor from the Zoning Administrator for tne City. 1.Application for permits snail be made in writing upon printed blanks or forms furnisned by the Zoning Administrator and snail be signed by ■ applicant. 2.Each app. .r a permit shall include: a correct legal description ot tne property on wnich tne proposed installation, alteration, repair or extension is to take place; a plan of tne site of reasonable scale and accuracy snowing the location of any proposed or existing buildings, sewage treatment facilities, property lines; a complete plan of the water supply system snowing the location, size ana design of all par^s of tne system to be installeo, altered, repaired, or extended; tne name of tne person, firm, or corporation who is to install tne system; any further information as required by tne Zoning Acininistraior. Private wells snail be located in a manner to oe free frun flooding and the top shall be so constructed and locateu as to oe above all possible sources of pollution. Wells already existing in areas subject to flooding shall be flood-proofed. No private well shall be located closer man tnree (3) feet to the outside basement wall of a dwelling. The outside basement footing shall be continuous across the opening of tiie well alcove. No well shall be located closer than fiftenn (IS) feet to a property line. Private wells shall be located in accordance witn tne standards of the Minnesota Health Department standards MHO 217 “Location of Wells", (c)(1). m
