MINUTBS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD AUGUST 19, 1985. PAGE 9 <br />#954 ORONO GOLF COURSE <br />265 ORONO ORCHARD ROAD SOUTH <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />PUBLIC HEARING 7:53 - 7:56 <br />Chairman Callahan explained the application for a <br />conditional use permit for expansion of the 4th tee and <br />regrading of tee apron area at the Municipal Golf Course. <br />Asst. Zoning Administrator Gaffron noted the certificate of <br />mailing and the affidavit of publication. Gaffron submitted <br />plans drawn up by the City Engineer for fill and grading near <br />the 4th tee on the Orono Golf Course. <br />There were no comments from the public regarding this matter <br />and the Public Hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by McDonald, to recommend <br />approval of the Conditional Use permit as submitted. <br />Motion, Ayes (6), Nays (0). <br />1956 MRS. PHILIP W. PILLSBURY <br />1200 BRACKETTS POINT ROAD <br />VARIANCE <br />Mr. William W. Scott, architect for Mrs. Pillsbury, was <br />present. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth explained that when the <br />building permit was filed it was found that the old <br />foundation was not going to be used with the new <br />construction, therefore a lot area and lot width variance is <br />required. Mabusth stated that it is an improved lakeshore <br />setback because the new structure will be located out of the <br />75 foot setback area. Mabusth also stated that this <br />application was too late for the Public Hearing deadline, so <br />the Planning Commission is being asked to nake their <br />recommendation and the Public Hearing will be held before the <br />Council at the August 26th meeting. <br />It was moved by Chairman Callahan, seconded by McDonald, to <br />approve the procedural variance application as recommended <br />by staff in their findings as listed. Motion, Ayes (6 ), Nays <br />(0). <br />#953 CHASKA MARINA <br />NORTH SHORE DRIVE <br />VARIANCES <br />PUBLIC HEARING 10:58 - 12:04 <br />Asst. Zoning Administrator Gaffron noted the certificate of <br />mailing and the affidavit of publication. Gaffron explained <br />the applicant's request for variances to permit commercial <br />open storage and parking of commercial and employee <br />vehicles. Gaffron explained that there are two separated <br />properties, owned by Chaska Marina, that are not adjacent to <br />the property itself but separated by residential used lots <br />within the B-2 zoned district.
