She said, "The house windows crank open over the <br />deck and we need the extra area to compensate.” <br />Rowlette noted that there is an existing patio in the back <br />yard that appears to serve no purpose. <br />Gaffron explained that removal of the patio would not help <br />in this case because lot coverage was being considered, rather <br />than hardcover. <br />Hanson stated that he is content with the 15.35%. <br />Bellows and Rowlette concurred. <br />There were no comments from the public regarding this <br />application and the Public Hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Bellows, seconded by Moos, to recommend <br />approval of the front setback and lot coverage variances needed <br />to construct an attached deck and gazebo. The hardship is the <br />placement of the existing house on the lot and that the variance <br />is consistent with other construction in the neighborhcou. <br />Motion, Ayes-5, Nays-0.
