Zoning File #1560 <br />July 12, 1990 <br />Page 2 <br />The City has in the past generally denied retaining walls <br />where their installation was strictly for the convenience of <br />maintenance than for actual protection of the lakeshore bank. In <br />this case, additional information regarding the proposed location <br />of the walls is needed to determine how many walls are necessary <br />to stabilize the bank and where they should be located. Also, <br />applicants should provide information as to how the walls will be <br />screened to reduce their visibility from the lake. <br />Staff Reconmendation - <br />Staff recommends tabling the request pending additional <br />information for review as follows: <br />a. Provide tie-back system design; <br />b. Stake the wall locations; <br />c. Provide a landscaping/vegetation plan for screening.
