Plat means the map or plan of a subdivision showing the property boundaries, layout,dimensions and legal • <br /> descriptions of all lots, blocks and rights-of-way. <br /> Plat final, means the plat of the subdivision which includes all information required by statute and this <br /> chapter,which plat will be recorded with the office of the county recorder. <br /> Plat,preliminary, means the proposed plat showing all information required by this chapter. <br /> Platting authority means the city council pursuant to Minn.Stat.§462.358. <br /> Property line means the boundary lines enclosing a lot, parcel or tract of land. Regardless of the legal <br /> description,the property line to be used for purposes of compliance with chapter 78 and this chapter shall be the <br /> ordinary high water mark of any lakeshore,the edge of the right-of-way,the edge of any public or private <br /> roadway,or the edge of an adjacent lot or outlot. <br /> Public hearing means a hearing to be held by the planning commission to allow for public review and input <br /> relating to the proposed subdivision pursuant to Minn.Stat.§462.358 and section 78-48. <br /> Registered engineer means an engineer properly licensed and registered in the state. <br /> Registered land surveyor means a land surveyor properly licensed and registered in the state. <br /> Right-of-way means a strip of land occupied or intended to be occupied by an alley,street,crosswalk, <br /> railroad, public or private roadway or easement,electric transmission line,oil or gas pipeline,water main,sanitary <br /> or storm sewer main, or for another special use. <br /> Roadway means any street, highway, road, lane,way,trail or any other area used for vehicular traffic. <br /> Roadways classification means one or more of the following: <br /> (1) Principal arterial means a roadway intended to connect urban subregions with one another,connect <br /> urban and rural service areas with metro centers, or connect outstate cities. <br /> (2) Intermediate arterial means a roadway intended to connect two or more subregions, provide <br /> secondary connections outstate and complements principal arterials in high-volume corridors. <br /> (3) Minor arterial means a roadway intended to connect adjacent subregions and activity centers within <br /> subregions. <br /> (4) Collector means a roadway intended to connect neighborhoods within and between subregions. <br /> (5) Local means a roadway intended to connect blocks within neighborhoods and specific activities within <br /> homogeneous land use areas. <br /> (6) Parkway means a roadway intended to provide low-speed and low-volume vehicular or bicycle access <br /> to or through recreational areas, parks and lakeshore. <br /> (7) Dead end means a roadway with only one vehicular-traffic outlet. <br /> (8) Private means a roadway for which the city or other political subdivision shall not be responsible for its <br /> maintenance and operation. <br /> (9) Public means any roadway for which the city or other political subdivision is or expects to be <br /> responsible for its maintenance and operation. <br /> Roadway right-of-way width means the distance between property lines measured at right angles to the <br /> centerline of the roadway. <br /> Setback means the minimum horizontal distance between a structure,system or facility and a natural <br /> feature, property line, right-of-way line, ordinary high water level,structure,system or other facility. <br /> Created: 2022-03-25 15:53:40 [EST] <br /> • <br /> (Supp. No.20,Update 1) <br /> Page 11 of 23 <br />
