1967 - Comprehensive Zoning Code adopted. Established various <br /> residential zones throughout the City, ranging from 1/2 to 2.0 <br /> acres required minimum lot size. Recodified prior and newly <br /> adopted ordinances. <br /> 1970 - Planning Commission increased to 14 members (including <br /> City Attorney, City Engineer, One Councilmember ) . <br /> 1970 - Adopted ordinance requiring phosphate content disclosure <br /> on all detergents sold. <br /> 1970 - Ordinance #125 established "Flood Plain and Wetlands <br /> Conservation Area " with regulations prohibiting filling, <br /> grading, dredging, excavation, and construction. <br /> 1973 - Adoption of 75 ' lakeshore setback requirement. <br /> 1974 (December) - After a 2 year building moratorium, adoption of <br /> 1974 Comprehensive Guide Plan. Rezoning of entire City - <br /> established new 2 acre/5 acre zones, hardcover/average setback <br /> requirements adopted. Incorporated a broad range of significant <br /> regulations for the 2 and 5 acre zones. <br /> 1975 - 26 ° wetland setback requirement adopted. <br /> 1976 - B-5 and M-6 zones established - portions of Navarre <br /> rezoned to B-5. <br /> 1978 - Revised wetlands/flood plain ordinances to incorporate new <br /> application procedures . <br /> 1978 - Adopted new On-Site Sewage Treatment System code, hired <br /> full time septic system inspector. <br /> 1980 - After a 1-year building moratorium in the Stubbs Bay area, <br /> rezoned Stubbs Marina to residential . <br /> 1980 - Adoption of 1980 Comprehensive Guide Plan. <br /> 1982 - After a 1-year moratorium, adopted comprehensive zoning <br /> regulations for Minnetonka islands, creating the "RS" district. <br /> 1984 - City Ordinances recodified . <br /> 1988 - After a 2-3 year development moratorium along Highway 12, <br /> B-6 Highway Commercial District created , PUD ordinance and <br /> regulations adopted. <br /> 1989 - Adopted ordinance requiring public accessability to <br /> private roads. <br />
