• Providing area youth with additional opportunities to refine their leadership skills in a multi- S <br /> generational team setting,and access to colleges and scholarship opportunities they may not otherwise <br /> have via other school sports; <br /> • Giving adults a fun outlet for their competitive spirit and an opportunity for friendship combined with <br /> fitness,opportunities to compete and make connections in a team setting; <br /> • Providing community groups with a rewarding team-building experience that can be customized to <br /> meet the goals of each organization.To date,there have been 4 of these group programs conducted by <br /> LLRC; <br /> • In 2018, LLRC received a special commendation from the Long Lake City Council for its ongoing <br /> commitment to service within the community; <br /> •As part of our"Rowing For All"initiative,our Erg-a-thon fundraisers(at the Orono Activity Center in <br /> 2019)support our financial aid and scholarship program; <br /> •And finally,our rowers and their families bring retail patronage to Orono and Long Lake each day during <br /> our season, resulting in a positive economic infusion to local businesses. <br /> I.
