Property
Owner:
Septic System Design
Additionai information
Ross .iohnson
Description of Waste Water Treatment System
This site is an existing home with a failed mound system due to iron filter plugging of the mound
rockbed and sand. The existing mound is not worth fixing due to its age and is better off being
replaced. A new mound is being designed northeast of the existing mound near the wooded
patch of the lot. There are about 6-10 trees that will need to be cut down. The existing tanks on
the property will need to be pumped, crushed and abandoned. Two new 1250 gallon septic
tanks will be installed along with a 1250 gallon pump tank. From the pump tank effluent will be
pumped approximately 85 feet to the newly proposed mound. The proposed mound will have a
10'x62.5' rockbed with a 2 foot sandlift under the rockbed. A flow measurement device must be
installed and the existing iron filter must be routed out of the septic system.
This new on-site sewage treatment system is designed for a 5 bedroom home, Type 1 system in
accordance with the MPCA Chapter 7080 and local ordinances.
The soils on this site are loamy. The periodically saturated soils were located after going to a
depth of 12 inches. This will lead 12 inches of usable soil underneath the mound with a 2 foot
sand lift. Therefore providing a 36 inch separation for the treatment of effluent above the
periodically saturated soils.
2-1250 gallon tank will need to be installed along with the installation of a 1250 gallon pump
tank to lift the sewage to the treatment area. The power supply and switches must be located
outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device
must also be installed with audio/visual alerts. The supply line must have drain back to the
pumping chamber.
From the pump tank sewage will be pumped approximately 85 feet to the mound. There will be
3- 2" pipes each 3 feet apart inside the 10' by 62.5' rockbed. The mound will have a total
footprint of 47' by 99' with 6 percent slope underneath it.
All tank manholes should be brought to grade upon completion of tank installation, inspection
ports for the distribution boxes should also be at grade upon completion.
Keep all vehicles and construction equipment off septic area. Ruttinq_ and/or com_pactinq_ the
soil will change the percolation rates and may lead to system failure.
Homeowner to verify all property lines and all relevant setbacks. Homebuilder and septic
installation company must verify all wetland setbacks,
Elevations are referenced to Bench Mark on the bottom of siding in the back of the home.
Ende Septic Service, LLC, 24910 Territorial Road 1ph.763-428-4489orit7fo(@endeseptic.com 1
