We are excited for the development of historic and <br />educational signage throughout the regional destination and growing community asset. <br /> <br />Project Understanding <br />Based on our previous involvement in the master planning and initial construction phase, <br />we have a strong understanding of Big Island’s history, existing infrastructure, the wants <br />and needs associated with the educational signage opportunities. <br /> <br />It is our understanding that all the images to be used in the development of the interpretive <br />signs will be provided by the City of Orono and/or the City may provide a location where <br />we can research photos. Bolton & Menk staff will work with the City to determine the best <br />images to be incorporated in the various sign panels. <br /> <br />The anticipated panel size of 16”x24” will be used for all the sign panels created under this <br />project. The frame will be powder coated steel/aluminum with stainless steel hardware. <br />Signs shall have a standard footing recommended by the sign fabricator. A single post <br />frame is anticipated and preferred to minimize ground disturbance. <br /> <br />Proposed Scope of Services <br />We propose to complete the following Big Island Park tasks: <br /> <br />1. Interpretive Sign Development…………………………………………..…..………….…$1,210/ea. <br />It is anticipated each sign’s development will include the following elements and associated <br />Bolton & Menk efforts: <br />A. Picture research and selection (5 hours)………………………………………………………………$550/ea. <br />• It is anticipated that each interpretive panel will contain several (3-5) picture <br />images to create each story. <br />• Bolton & Menk will work with the City on developing the various panel themes. <br />Once the themes are selected, we will sort through the potential pictures and group <br />them into folders for final selection and sizing. <br />• Bolton & Menk will work through any potential image copyrights to ensure selected <br />image sources are cited appropriately and displayed in accordance with any <br />applicable copyright legislation. <br /> <br />B.
