The Pl�iuiing Conunission reviewed tliis applicatioil at a public hearing <br /> held on September 18, 2006 and recommended approval of the conditional <br /> use permit for the l�nd alterlti���s aud proposed s11ed based on the <br /> following findings: <br /> a. The Planning Conunission reviewed the signage element of this <br /> application at, a public hearing held on September 18, 2006 and <br /> reconunended approval of the conditional use permit for a campus <br /> mollument sign as well approval of the sign size variance, but <br /> recammended denial of the variance for height based on the following <br /> findings: <br /> a. The propei�y is approximately 4.38 acres in area and has frontage <br /> along Fernclale Road North and CoLuity Road 6 (Sixth Avenue North). <br /> b. The cunent Orono Zoning Code does not have sign standards for <br /> institutional uses allowed conditionally W1t�11I1 Residential Districts. <br /> Within Residential Districts a nameplate sign with a maYinzum of 12 <br /> s.f. is permitted. <br /> c.
