Barnhart Reviewed By: DJR Approved By: DJR <br />1.Pu rpose: To publish Requests for Proposals for Building Inspection, Code Review, and <br />Code Enforcement Services (Building Services). <br />2.Background: Due to the recent realignment of the services provided by the building official; <br />the City is in need of a long term solution to serve as the City’s Building Official, to oversee the <br />inspection process, and enforce the city’s zoning ordinance, and manage the City’s septic <br />program. <br />Building inspection services is not included in the resolution (Resolution 6585) establishing a <br />rotating schedule for the bidding of professional services; those services including Civil and <br />Prosecution Attorney, Auditor, Engineering, etc. The last contract with the current Building <br />Inspection provider, Metro West signed in March of 2014. <br />The draft RFP incorporates all building review, code review, inspection services, septic, and <br />code enforcement functions. <br />3.Staff Recommendation: City Administrator recommends approval of the Building Services <br />RFP and to establish an ad-hoc Building Services RFP review committee. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to Approve Request for Proposals for Building Services and the appointment of an ad- <br />hoc Building Services RFP review committee. <br />Exhibits <br />A.Request for Proposal: Building Services RFP <br />Item No.: 10 Date: October 26, 2020 <br />Item Description: Consulting Building Services RFP <br />Presenter: Dustin Rief Agenda <br />Section: <br />City Administrator <br />Report
