The purpose of this request is to gain Council approval for the replacement of the existing <br />Kohler stationary 60KW Generator with a new Cummins 150KW natural gas generator. <br /> <br />2. Background. The existing unit only powers part of each of the three city buildings, City Hall, Police <br />Dept. and Public Works, with no room for future capacity. The existing generator has been in service for <br />28 years, and is undersized, and not sound or weather proof. The new unit is sized to run all three building <br />with no interruptions. <br /> <br />3. Cost. The City received quotes, listed below the existing unit would be traded in. Funding. Funding will be provided from the Improvement Equipment Outlay Fund. The CIP had <br />$175,000 identified for the Generator. <br /> <br />5. Staff Recommendation.
