<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />NO. ________________________ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION TO WITHDRAW FROM <br />THE LOGIS GROUP INSURANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Health Insurance is a primary benefit provided to the employees of the City <br />of Orono; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has been a member of the LOGIS Group Insurance Program for <br />health insurance since 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in recent years the City has experienced double digit premium increases for <br />health insurance which has negatively impacted both the City Budget and city employee finances; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that it may be beneficial to enter the open market to <br />procure health insurance benefits for city employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the LOGIS Group Insurance Program requires that members notify the <br />program of their intent to withdraw by June 15th of year prior to leaving the group; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Orono City Council that the City of <br />Orono, in compliance with the LOGIS insurance group’s policies, is withdrawing from the LOGIS <br />Group Insurance Program effective 12/31/2020. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 26th day of May, 2020. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_________________________________ _________________________________ <br />Anna Carlson, City Clerk Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br />
