Purpose: To approve a resolution withdrawing from the LOGIS Insurance Group for <br />provision of employee group health insurance <br /> <br />2. Background: Rising insurance costs have been an ongoing issue for many years. During the <br />2020 budget cycle, the Council directed staff to create an insurance committee in order to explore <br />options for insurance that may result in lower premiums; or at least smaller increases in the future. <br />The committee met with our insurance agent earlier this year. The Council was updated with this <br />information at the at April 27th work session. At that work session the Council requested that staff <br />move ahead with an RFP process for employee health insurance. The RFP process was approved at <br />the May 11th Council meeting. The final step in the process of obtaining new insurance coverage is <br />to formally withdraw from the LOGIS Insurance Group. In order to withdraw, the City must pass a <br />resolution withdrawing from the LOGIS Insurance Group by June 15th. <br /> <br />3. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approving the attached resolution to withdraw <br />from the LOGIS Group Insurance Program. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve a resolution to withdraw from the LOGIS Group Insurance Program. <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
