<br />Page 1 of 2 <br />209493v1 <br />City of Orono COVID-19 Leave Plan Revised 5/11/20 <br />The City will implement a flexible leave and scheduling policy for the duration of this emergency. The <br />City may need to make modifications as time goes on because the full extent of the emergency is <br />currently unknown. The policy is as follows: <br />Employees will be allowed to earn vacation, sick, and compensatory time above the current allowed <br />limits. <br />Flexible Work Arrangements <br />Employees who are able to work from home must do so as per Governor’s Executive Order 20-33. <br />Supervisors will advise on any changes to working situations and additional staffing plans may be <br />implemented as accommodations on a case by case basis. <br />Families First Coronavirus Response Act <br />On March 18, 2020 the President signed into law the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (The Act). <br />The Act includes the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave <br />Expansion Act. <br /> <br />Emergency Sick Pay Leave- Available 3/23/20 thru 12/31/20 <br />Under the Emergency Sick Pay Leave Act two weeks of emergency sick leave is available to all City of <br />Orono part-time and full-time employees who are unable to work (or telecommute) due to a need for <br />leave because the employee: <br />1. is subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19; <br />2. has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19; <br />3. is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and is seeking a medical diagnosis; <br />4. is caring for an individual subject to an order described in (1) or self-quarantine as described in (2); <br />5. is caring for his or her child whose school or place of care is closed (or child care provider is unavailable) <br />due to COVID-19 related reasons; or <br />6. is experiencing any other substantially-similar condition specified by the U.S. <br /> <br />Full-time employees who are unable to work because of reasons 1-3 listed above are entitled to two <br />weeks (80 hours) and part-time employees are entitled to the typical number of hours that they work in <br />a two-week period. The amount paid is capped at $511 per day ($5,110 in the aggregate). <br /> <br />Full-time employees who are unable to work because of reasons 4, 5, and 6 listed above are entitled to <br />two weeks of 2/3 their normal rate of pay capped at $200 per day ($2,000 in the aggregate) and part-
