AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 12 <br />Date: February 10, 2020 <br />Item Description: LAI 9-000106 — Tom Lemmerman, 1389 Orono Lane, Variance - <br />Resolution <br />Presenter: Laura Oakden Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Planner Section: <br />1. Purpose. Consider a variance from the average lakeshore setback requirements. <br />2. Background. The applicant is proposing to rebuild and expand a covered porch on an existing <br />house along the side and street side of the home. Majority of the proposed covered porch is within a <br />conforming location, though a portion extends into the average lakeshore setback. The applicant is also <br />proposing to renovate the master bedroom and change the roofline from a flat roof to a gable pitched roof <br />to match the existing roof on the home. The peak of the proposed new roof, while taller than the existing <br />flat roof, will not be taller than the peak of the existing roof, but will encroach into the average lakeshore <br />setback. <br />3. 15.99 Deadline. The applicant made a complete application on January 3, 2020. Following the 60 -day <br />rule, the application will expire March 3, 2020. <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. The Planning commission reviewed the application at <br />their meeting on January 21, 2020. . They found the proposed project had minimal impact to the <br />neighboring property owners and the intent of the ordinance. The commission gave a unanimous <br />recommendation of approval, 4-0. <br />5. Public Comment. No public comments were received. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
