By definition,this <br /> activity is considered as engaging in the"business of docking,mooring or storing boats",i.e.renting or <br /> otherwise providing space,including boat buoys, for docking,mooring or storing one or more boats <br /> belonging to persons other than the owner or occupant of the property. Such business activity is allowed <br /> only in the B-2 Marina Zoning District. Your property is in the LR-1A Single Family Residential District, <br /> in which rental of in-water boat slips is not allowed. <br /> City staff inspected your property on June 8 and established that the property contains dock or mooring <br /> space for at least 8 boats which were identified via license numbers as neither being owned by you nor <br /> licensed to you. The owners of record of the boats have been mailed notice that the boats cannot continue <br /> to be stored at your property, and they have been given 7 days to have the boats removed. <br /> You are in violation of City ordinances which prohibit dock slip rental.A synopsis of the pertinent <br /> ordinances is attached. All boats not licensed or registered to you must be removed within 7 <br /> days. The City will perform an inspection on June 23, 2004 to verify compliance with the <br /> ordinance.
