This includes: <br /> • The construction of boat houses on Lake Minnetonka is prohibited by Lake Minnetonka Conservation District <br /> (LMCD) Code Section 2.12, Subd. 2a. However,the interpretation of this could vary because the boat house in <br /> question was appears to have been legally in existence prior to its removal last fall. <br /> • Based on what I understand,the City of Orono is seeking approval from the LMCD on reconstruction of the boat <br /> house. Without further construction details on what is being proposed,the LMCD is unable to determine <br /> whether the reconstructed boat house would comply with the LMCD Code. When you submit your building <br /> permit application to the City of Orono, please make sure the LMCD is copied on it. This should give the LMCD a <br /> better idea of whether the proposed structure would be built at the previously approved dimensions or would <br /> be an expanded structure. <br /> • In our conversation, you made reference to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District(MCWD) requesting some <br /> level of approval from the LMCD. At first glance, it does not seem that this would be for the boat house. If you <br /> have another permit application into the MCWD and they are seeking approval by LMCD, please forward me a <br /> copy of the completed application. <br /> • With regards to reconstruction of the boat house, it seems that Kate Drewry, the Area Hydrologist for the <br /> Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, should be consulted.
