Public Services Plan <br /> existing telephone sen�ice is of the overhead type with most new services to <br /> subdivisions or to individual homes being of the underground type. <br /> WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SERVICES <br /> (Section to be develoaed) <br /> CABLE TELEVISION & COMMUNICATION SERVICE <br /> Orono is provided with cable television service by Tr;^� ",r:a�,�o�* n����:�*e� <br /> Mediacom, the franchise holder which currently owns and maintains the cable <br /> television infrastructure in the Lake Minnetonka area. Not all homes in Orono <br /> are currently provided with cable service, which relies on a minimum level of <br /> residential development density in order to financially justify the infrastructure <br /> costs. The areas of Orono currently provided with cable service are shown in <br /> Map 4F-7. (MAP NEVER CREATED DUE TO LACK OF INFO) Services <br /> provided by Mediacom include a varietv of levels of cable television service • 8 <br /> mbps and 20 mbps high-speed internet service; and telephone service. <br /> Local programming and franchise administration are under the auspices of the <br /> Lake Minnetonka Cable Commission (LMCC), a joint powers organization <br /> consisting of� 17 of the smaller cities around Lake Minnetonka. In terms of <br /> franchise administration, the LMCC controls rates on basic service, reviews <br /> technical standards and compliance, ensures that the cable operator is meeting <br /> the needs of the community in customer service, and provides quality television <br /> production facilities and training for the local communities. <br /> In terms of local programming, LMCC operates a television production studio in <br /> Spring Park and generates local programming which is broadcast over two local <br /> access channels.
