Aboveground Dispensing of Flammable/Combustible Liquids <br /> Notes <br /> The installation shall comply with the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code . <br /> The following are reference notes from the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code <br /> which contain specific instructions applicable to this project . These <br /> requirements must be complied with. <br /> 1 . The installation must be approved by the local fire chief . <br /> M.R. 7510 .3440 Subp. 5 <br /> Sec. 79 . 903 (a) <br /> When approved by the chief, the dispensing of Class I and <br /> Class II liquids from a fuel dispensing system supplied by <br /> exterior aboveground tanks may be permitted . . . <br /> 2 . Unless the tank is listed as meeting the requirements for <br /> secondary containment, the tank must be provided with a <br /> dike. <br /> 3 . The tank system must be listed for aboveground use . <br /> M.R. 7510 .3440 Subp. 5 <br /> Sec. 79 .903 (a) 2 : <br /> The tank system shall be listed as meeting UL 2085 <br /> requirements or approved for such aboveground use . <br /> 4 . Tanks must be provided with lightning protection. <br /> M.R. 7510 .3440 Subp. 5 <br /> Sec. 79 . 903 (a) 10 : <br /> Tanks shall be provided with lightning protection as <br /> specified in National Fire Protection Association Standard <br /> 78, Lightning Protection Code, 1989 . <br /> 5 . Safety rules and signs . <br /> Sec. 79 .903 (d) : <br /> Conspicuous signs prohibiting smoking, prohibiting <br /> dispensing into unapproved containers, and requiring vehicle <br /> motors to be stopped during fueling operations shall be <br /> posted within sight of each customer being served. <br /> 6 .
