The sign copy area shall have a minimum clearance of 20 inches above <br /> ground level. <br /> d. The sign copy area shall be completely enclosed within the monument <br /> materials. <br /> e. No portion of the sign or sign structure shall exceed ten feet above ground <br /> level. <br /> f. The monument sign base shall be constructed of materials similar in <br /> appearance to those of the principal structure and shall consist of brick, <br /> natural stone, stucco, textured cast stone, or integrally colored concrete <br /> masonry units. The structure surrounding the face of the sign from the <br /> base to the top of the sign must be solid, continuous, and consist of the <br /> base materials or complementary materials that match the appearance <br /> and color of the principal building. <br /> 9. One nameplate sign for each dwelling, and such sign shall not exceed two <br /> square feet in area per surface, and no sign shall be so constructed as to <br /> have more than two surfaces. <br /> b• One nameplate sign for each dwelling group of six or more units, and <br /> such sign shall not exceed six square feet in area per surface, and no <br /> sign shall be so constructed as to have more than two surfaces. <br /> C. One nameplate sign for each permitted use or use by conditional permit <br /> other than residential, and such sign shall not exceed 12 square feet in <br /> area per surface. <br /> (2) Illumination. Symbols, statues, sculptures and integrated architectural features <br /> on nonresidential buildings may be illuminated by floodlights provided the direct <br /> source of light is not visible from the public right-of-way or adjacent residential <br /> district. <br /> (3) Setbacks. Any sign over one-half square foot shall be set back at least five feet <br /> from any property line. No sign shall exceed eight feet in height above the <br /> average grade level. Signs may be illuminated, but such lighting shall be diffused <br /> or indirect. <br /> (4) Home occupations. One nameplate sign containing name and address but not to <br /> contain business name or type of business, and such sign shall not exceed two <br /> square feet in area per surface, nor contain more than two surfaces. <br /> (Code 1984, § 10.61(2); Ord.
