D. Ballast shall be washed,round and smooth stone about 1-1/2"(3.8 cm)thick with a minimum of 10 <br /> pounds per square foot. <br /> E. Walkways shall be"Roofblok"or equal concrete pavers with slip sheet. Pavers shall have fluted <br /> bottoms to permit drainage. Provide three(3)foot wide walkway around all rooftop mechanical <br /> equipment and a three-foot wide walkway from mechanical equipment to edge of roof or any other <br /> access to the roofs. <br /> F. Pipe flashing and other accessories shall meet manufacturer's standard materials requirements for a <br /> complete roofing system. <br /> G. Provide wolmanized wood strips or metal bar strips or rubber bar strips with fasteners as required to <br /> fasten membrane at roof edge and flashings. <br /> 2.3 ROOF INSULATION <br /> A. Roof insulation shall be compatible with ballasted,fully adhered and mechanically fastened single-ply, <br /> EPDM roofing systems.Insulation system shall be available in flat and tapered boards.The insulation <br /> shall use EPA accepted blowing agent and shall be free of HCFC. <br /> B. Rigid ISO Cyanurate conforming to ASTM C 1289,Type II,Class I and FM Class 1 approved. <br /> Minimum LTTR R-value(CAN/ULC S770)of the material shall be not less than 9.0 and 12.0 for a <br /> nominal thickness of 1.5 inches and 2.0 inches respectively.The minimum foam core density shall be <br /> 2.0 lb/cu.ft. The total thickness shall be as shown in drawings and at a minimum shall at least 1.5 <br /> inches. <br /> C. Tapered Insulation:Provide tapered insulation of 1.25 P.C.F.expanded polystyrene above first layer of <br /> roof insulation at all roof drains and elsewhere as indicated on the Drawings and as needed to provide <br /> proper roof drainage.(1/4"per foot min.) <br /> 2.4 VAPOR BARRIER <br /> A. Vapor barrier shall be installed in all areas with high interior humidity and shall be 6 mil clear <br /> polyethylene sheet conforming to CS 227 with a permeability of not more than 0.5 perm when tested in <br /> accordance with ASTM 154-79 or any other material as recommended by the roof membrane <br /> manufacturer. <br /> PART 3--EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 INSPECTION OF SURFACES <br /> A. Verify that work of other trades which penetrates roof deck or required men and equipment to traverse <br /> roof deck has been completed. <br /> B. Examine surfaces for inadequate anchorage,foreign material,moisture,and unevenness which would <br /> prevent the execution and quality of application of the roofing system as specified. <br /> C. Examine roof edge and curb lumber for proper anchorage. <br /> D. Do not proceed with application of the roofing system until defects are corrected. <br /> E. Clear deck of dust,dirt,debris,ice,snow,etc.,and promptly repair any disfigurement. <br /> F. Placement of insulation constitutes acceptance of roof deck. <br /> 3.2 DISTRIBUTION OF STORED MATERIALS <br /> A.
