He indicated some <br /> C�mmissinners ha.ve nreferred widened shoulders. Ne was inf�rmed hv C7anna that the <br /> City would be required to pay the cost for widening the shaulders. He also said the <br /> gPnPral n��hlic' nPr�P?ttinn ic wic�Pr rnaric hrinv mnrP tra_ffir anri hiahPr cnPEuic�uhilw thP <br /> truth is the creation of safer raadways. <br /> Gappa nated it would be difficult to have any other trails that run parallel to the Luce <br /> Line. <br /> McDermott indicated that public meetings would have to be held for any changes made to <br /> the nronosed bike trail man. <br /> McDermott suggested a trail adjacent to the Hwy 12 Corridor. <br /> The committee consisting of Wilson, Welles, McDermatt, and Erickson will review the <br /> h4kP trail map. <br /> It�vas deternvn�d that trails do not have to always be separated trails from the roadway. <br /> ThP�railc anri typPc ch�y(� �j.?t��ntif.�d <br /> Ilse said she wauld be concerned with safety on shoulder trails. Gappa said it also might not have the necessary base for widening. He <br /> noted the lar�e number of t�rivate roads in the Citv. Gappa said there are no plans for <br /> major reconstructions, and the city is already borrowing ahead on their MSA funding. <br /> Welles cited the poor maintenance of Brawn Road bike trail. Gappa said the city is not <br /> equipped to handle it. Gappa said the mac}une would cost about $20,000-$25,000. <br /> VVilson said fund raising could possibly be a solution. Wilson said she is of the opinion <br /> that if the trail cannot be adeauatelv maintained. the Citv should not build senarated trails. <br /> Gappa said the problem also arises with obtaining the necessary easements.
