REVIEW <br /> Erickson questioned what was occurting around the Watertown and Old Crystal Bay <br /> Roads area. Gappa said he was unaware of any project in that area. <br /> Erickson asked that advance warning be given an any road improvements where the <br /> shoulders can be widened for a possibie bike trail. Gappa reported that North Ferndate <br /> be�ween Plymouth and Wayzata is scheduled for ne�year. A trail is planned on the east <br /> side. <br /> Ilse asked about maintenance of the trail noting areas that are full of sand and dangerous. <br /> Gappa said negotiations have been reopened with the County. Wilson said the corridor <br /> will be part of the Hennepin County trail system. Gappa reported that the City does not <br /> have the equipment necessary to maintain the trails. Wilson asked Gappa to work with <br /> Moorse in eontacting Doug Bryant of Hennepin Parks and have Bryant call Wilson. <br /> VUilsan reviewed ths praposed bike trail plan. She indicated the plan requires revisions. <br /> McDermott �eported that the Council only recently adopted the plan. <br /> Wilson reported that Watertown Road was not included on the trail. She thought the map <br /> should he redrawn to include Watertown Road, eliminate Fox Street, and add Tamarack. <br /> McDe�mott suggested including the Dakota Rail. <br /> Ilse said Watertown Road was narrow and would be difficult to huild a trail on. She <br /> reported thai when Mn/DOT was approached over widening the shoulders, there was <br /> much public negative response to the idea. Welles and Wilson said Watertown Road <br /> should be included. McDermott indieated that the use of the shaulder for Watertown <br /> Road would be off in the future as it had been recently overlaid. <br /> McDermott asked that he would be unwilling to give up the park dedication fees that <br /> would be available from development of lanc!in the area. Wilsan said with shoulder use as <br /> tra.ils, it would not require taking land for a separated trail and the fee could still be <br /> obtained. McDermott sug�ested a hierarchy be determined for shoulder and separated <br /> trailways. <br /> Wilson verified that a11 Commissioners had the trail map to review for making suggestions. <br /> Wilsan will copy the large map for distributivn as it more easily viewetl. <br /> Ilse questioned the area on Bayside not included on the map.
