MINUTES OF THE REGULAR�RONO PARK COMMISSION <br /> MEETING HELD �N APRIL 7, 1997 <br /> �(#15 -Park Plans - Continued) <br /> Wilson asked that written invitations be sent to eouncit and Planning Commissianers <br /> regarding the Park Tour. The tour will be held at 6:00 p.m. on June 2. Gappa will check <br /> on obtaining the use of a bus, food, and invitatians. The list for touring will be determined <br /> at the May meeting. <br /> McDermatt indicated the Council would like the Park Commission to make a <br /> determinatian on the exact location and side of street that trails would be constructed and <br /> any other modifications needed for the bike plan. <br /> It was nated that Spring Hill Golf Club is in the cc�nceptual phase of development. <br /> Itse suggested Hackberry may be in need of park upgrade before Crystal Bay Phase II is <br /> scheduled. <br /> Beal suggested a 10 year plan. <br /> McDermott said he would prefer park upgrades not be listed on the plan until they are <br /> projected for upgrade in the foreseeabie future. <br /> McDernlott noted the major rehabilitatiot3 t�evelopment plan by the Veterans Camp on Big <br /> Island. Wilson said the Park Commission wil� informally follow. Van Zomeren said staff <br /> is attending the meetings. <br /> (#16) PARK SIGNAGE • <br /> This agenda item was not discussed due to time constraint. <br /> Gappa and Wilson will review the park signage during their tour. It was noted that parl� <br /> signs are in need of maintenance and trails need park sign identification. <br /> (#17) TRAIL NEEDS/PLAN FOR NEW HIGHWAY 12 CORRIDQR <br /> This a�enda item will be discussed in May. Gappa suggested a Park Commissioner(s) <br /> attend the Highway 12 policy committee meetings being held the first Wednesday of each <br /> month at 7:00 p.m. An assignment wi11 be maae in May. <br /> 13 <br />
