OB6A5.AM September 16, 1999 <br /> (4470) <br /> ERAGUARD ROOF COATINGS FOR USE <br /> OVER POLYURETHANE SPRAY FOAM AND <br /> METAL PANEL ROOFS <br /> FROM <br /> ERSYSTEMS <br /> 50 MEDINA STREET <br /> LORETTO, MN 55357 <br /> 1 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 ERSystems submitted their Eraguard roof coatings for testing to determine If they <br /> would meet the Approval requirements of Factory Mutual Research Standard 4470 (1986) for <br /> Class 1 Fire, Windstorm and Hail Classifications for use in recover construction with <br /> polyurethane spray foam insulation applied over steel, wood and concrete deck roofs, insulated <br /> metal panel roofs and in new construction over structural concrete roof decks. <br /> 1.2 Examination included ASTM E108 (93) fin:testing for potential exterior fire spread, <br /> simulated hail damage testing, water leakage testing and resistance to foot traffic testing. <br /> Other tests with the foam insulations were completed under J.I. 0Z3Q4.AM. <br /> 1.3 Test results show that the Eraguard coatings submitted for testing meet the Factory <br /> Mutual Research Standard 4470 Approval requirements for Class 1 Roof Covers when installed <br /> as described in the CONCLUSIONS of this report. <br /> II MATERIALS TESTED <br /> 2.1 Eraguard 1000 FR, Gray is a gray acrylic, water based roof coating spray or roller <br /> applied to sprayed rigid polyurethane foam roof insulation. Eraguard 1000 FR, Gray is applied <br /> as a base coat at a minimum rate of 1.5 gal/square (0.6 f/mz)with a minimum 12.5 mil [0.0125 <br /> in. (0.3 mm)) dry thickness. Eraguard 1000 FR, White is applied after a 12 to 24 hour initial <br /> cure at a minimum rate of 1.5 gal/square (0.6 f/m2) with a minimum 12.5 mil [0.0125 in. (0.3 <br /> mm)] dry thickness. <br /> 2.2 Eraguard 1000 FR, White is a white acrylic, water based roof coating. It is spray or <br /> roller applied to Eraguard 1000 FR, Gray base coat at a minimum rate of 1.5 gal/square (0.6 <br /> 9/m2) with a minimum 12.5 mil [0.0125 in. (0.3 mm)] dry thickness or it is applied to Eraguard <br /> 2000- Primer- FR in a two coat application with each coating applied at a minimum rate of 0.75 <br /> gal/square (0.3 9/m2)with a minimum 12.5 mll [0.0125 in. (0.3 mm)] dry thickness. The use of <br /> No. 11 roofing granules is optional over polyurethane foam and requires that a third coat of <br /> Eraguard 1000 FR, White be applied at a rate of 0.5 gal/square(0.2 P/m2)with granules <br /> broadcast into the wet coating at a rate of 40 Ib/square (1.9 kg/m2). <br />
