c. Small Brush Disposal Fires. A minimum lot size of 2 acres is required for <br /> small brush disposal fires. Small brush disposal means a fire set with approved <br /> starter fuel no more than 8' in diameter and 4' in height using any clean dry wood, <br /> producing minimal smoke, odor or soot beyond the property line;conducted with an <br /> adult tending the fire site at all times; extinguished completely before leaving the <br /> site; and respecting weather conditions, neighbors,burning bans, and air quality so <br /> that nuisance,health or safety hazards will not be created. Small Brush Disposal Fire <br /> Sites shall not be located closer than seventy-five (75) feet to any structure or fifty <br /> (50)feet from any lot line. An adequate water supply for fire suppression purposes <br /> must be provided. Only materials generated on site may be burned. A fire used for the purpose of fire <br /> department training under the conditions of a permit from the Minnesota Pollution <br /> Control Agency. <br /> f. Native Prairie Restoration Fires. Fires used for the purposes of Native <br /> Prairie Maintenance conducted under the supervision of qualified individ»als or firms <br /> specializing in this type of work. <br /> g. Starter Fuels. Starter Fuels means dry, untreated, unpainted kindling, <br /> branches or cardboard, or charcoal fire starter. Paraffin candles and alcohols are <br /> permitted as starter fuels and as aids to ignition only. Propane gas torches or other <br /> clean gas burning devices causing minimal pollution should be used to start an Open <br /> Burn. <br /> h. Wood. Wood means dry, clean fuel only as a twigs, branches, limbs, <br /> "presto logs," charcoal, or cordwood. "Wood" does not include wood that is green, <br /> with leaves or needles, rotten, wet, oil soaked, or treated with paint, glue or <br /> preservatives. <br /> 2 <br />
